AAMP was originally created for me to learn more about DllCall in AutoIt. A media player was chosen because everyone else on the forums at the time seemed to be making one... Now it has progressed to having more features and being faster- a total rewrite after version 1. I have much more planned. If you have something you want added, post it in the forums.
